**Full-Time • 4–5 Shifts per Week • Growth Path to Captain**
Black Forest Brooklyn is seeking an experienced bartender/server to join our team. For the right person, there is a **clear path to grow into a Captain role with a higher tip share, a fuller schedule, and significantly higher earning potential.**
We’re staffing up as we head into one of our busiest times of year, with **Oktoberfest, fall sports, private events, and the holiday season** all ahead. This is not a temporary or seasonal hire — we’re looking for someone who wants to join the team long term and grow with us beyond the fall.
We’re looking for someone who is fast, organized, reliable, and genuinely enjoys taking care of guests. This is a **flexible bartender/server position** — team members work both behind the bar and on the floor depending on the needs of the shift.
If you’re looking strictly for a bartender-only position, this probably isn’t the right fit. We’re looking for people who are comfortable moving between the bar and the floor and jumping in wherever they can have the biggest impact.
This position will be based primarily at **Black Forest Brooklyn**, with cross-training opportunities at our sister bar, Fritz Cocktail Bar. Working across our concepts can provide additional flexibility and help build a strong, consistent full-time schedule.
## The Role
**Full-time • Approximately 4–5 shifts per week**
Black Forest is a busy, high-volume restaurant and beer hall. Our bartenders need to be able to move quickly, stay organized, handle volume, and provide warm, efficient hospitality.
Depending on the shift, you may be scheduled behind the bar, on the floor, or move between the two during service. We don't believe in rigid divisions between bartender and server — everyone is part of the same hospitality team.
Strong team members may also cross-train at **Fritz Cocktail Bar**, where the focus is on craft cocktails, spirits, technique, and a more cocktail-driven style of service.
## Responsibilities
* Provide fast, friendly, and attentive service behind the bar and on the floor
* Prepare beer, wine, cocktails, and other beverages accurately and efficiently
* Take ownership of your section or bar throughout the shift
* Set up and fully stock your station before service
* Maintain organization and cleanliness during high-volume service
* Monitor pars and communicate stocking and prep needs
* Move comfortably between bartender and server responsibilities as needed
* Support teammates proactively rather than waiting to be asked
* Maintain cleanliness, organization, and DOH standards
* Help set up the following shift for success
* Contribute to a positive, professional, team-oriented culture
## What We’re Looking For
* Strong bartending and/or serving experience in a busy restaurant or bar
* Comfortable working **both behind the bar and on the floor**
* Fast, efficient, and organized in a high-volume environment
* Strong hospitality instincts and guest-service skills
* Someone who takes ownership and notices what needs to be done
* Calm and professional under pressure
* Reliable, accountable, and punctual
* Positive attitude and strong teamwork
* Flexibility to work different positions and potentially across different locations
* Interest in learning, growing, and taking on additional responsibility
