Responsibilities:
- Make and serve coffee and tea beverages adhering to recipes and presentations
- Greet guests warmly and create an inviting atmosphere
- Receive and process payments using cash and credit cards
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Check brewing equipment operations and report any maintenance needs
- Train students on working in the cafe and communicate student progress with the Cafe Manager
- Maintain regular, consistent attendance and contribute to a positive, supportive team environment
Requirements:
- Previous work experience as a Barista with hands-on espresso and brewing equipment experience
- Passion for the food and beverage industry and alignment with our mission
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for guests and colleagues
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations; NYS Food Handler's certificate is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to gauge customer preferences
- Basic math skills
- Part-time availability, including mandatory weekend availability
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or multilingual skills a plus
