The Assistant Manager will work directly with ownership to oversee the daily operation of a Brooklyn-based hospitality business. This is a leadership position for someone who enjoys managing people, solving problems, improving systems, and ensuring every guest receives outstanding service.
Responsibilities:
-Open or close restaurant as scheduled
-Ensure all departments are fully prepared before opening.
-Monitor daily operations and maintain exceptional ambiance and guest experiences.
-Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
-Coordinate with ownership and contractors for regular required maintatence or repairs of kitchen and bar equipment.
-Ensure opening, closing, and operational checklists are completed by all staff member.
-Assist ownership with Back office tasks (payroll, reports, etc..)
Team Leadership
-Supervise restaurant staff.
-Be the point of contact between staff and ownership.
-Assign daily tasks and verify completion.
-Hold employees accountable to company standards.
-Help foster a positive, professional workplace culture.
-Scheduling & Administration
-Create and maintain employee schedules.
-Review employee timecards and prepare payroll information.
Assist with onboarding paperwork and personnel records.
-Help recruit, interview, and onboard new employees.
-Track attendance, punctuality, and performance.
-Assist ownership with HR-related matters and employee communications.
Business Operations
-Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering.
-Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
-Assist with implementing new operational procedures and improving existing ones.
-Prepare reports for ownership regarding staffing, operations, and guest feedback.
-Social Media/Marketing
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who has:
-2+ years of leadership or management experience in hospitality, restaurant, or retail.
-Strong leadership and communication skills.
-Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
-Experience scheduling employees.
-Confidence managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
-Ability to remain calm under pressure.
-Strong problem-solving skills.
-Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
-Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
MUST HAVE AT LEAST 2 YEARS BARTENDING EXPERIENCE.
Experience with payroll systems, HR administration, or hospitality management software is a plus, but we're willing to train the right candidate.
