We have been making high quality hand tools for over 120 years. Join our team as a Tool Maker, where your attention to detail will drive precision craftsmanship. In this role, you will be responsible for making tools and maintaining tools and machines. Your ability to learn machining techniques will be essential in producing tools that meet high quality standards and support our production goals. This position offers an opportunity to work with your hands and using machinery and measurement tools. Skills will be learned with on the job training.
Duties
Understanding and following verbal and written directions in English
Attention to detail; high demand on the quality of your own work
able to work well with your hands have a good eye, good hand eye coordination
Must be able to read a ruler in fractional increments ie 1/16, 1/8, 1/4
Perform repetitive tasks with constant quality and productivity
Machines that will be used are belt grinders, band saw, milling machine, surface grinder, lathe, drill press, chop saw
Able to read and write simple instructions and documentation
Comfortable performing shop-level calculations as needed for measurements and production tasks. Measuring tools used are rulers, calipers and micrometers
Set up and operate mechanical surface grinders and milling machines.
Perform manual machining operations such as grinding, drilling, turning, and milling.
Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other measurement instruments to verify tool accuracy.
