The Lobster Pot is a well regarded, independent restaurant — high-end, award winning, and long standing — open year-round for lunch and dinner. We host many private events along with our regular dining service, with multiple dining rooms, a large bar, and large outside waterfront dining in the summer. We're a close-knit, family-oriented team looking to add an experienced cook to grow with us long-term. We have a large customer base and a reputation for quality that we take seriously — we're looking for someone who takes the same pride in food and service that we do.
What you'll do:
Execute menu items to our standards during service and events
Maintain food safety and sanitation protocols
Monitor food costs and help minimize waste
Take initiative in the kitchen and help keep things running smoothly
Help coordinate food ordering
Support scheduling and day-to-day kitchen staffing needs
Contribute to ongoing review of kitchen operations and efficiency
Uphold high standards for food quality and guest experience
Adjust to seasonal menu shifts
What we're looking for:
Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience
Strong understanding of food costing and food safety
Good background working with fresh seafood
Availability for evening and weekend shifts (required) — schedule is 8–12 hour shifts, 4–6 days/week depending on season
Reliable transportation
Willingness to adapt, learn, and grow within the role
Strong interest in customer service
A team player who works well with others in a fast-paced kitchen
Ability to stand for extended periods
Compensation:
Salary to be discussed based on experience and qualifications
Why work with us:
We're a tight family team that caters to our customers. Our reputation for quality food and service is something we're proud of and work hard to protect, and we're looking for someone who wants longevity and who's interested in working closely with ownership as we grow. There's real opportunity here for the right person, and we're happy to talk specifics about the role during the interview process.
