We are seeking an experienced handyman to perform general maintenance and repair work across its facilities. The position requires working knowledge of building systems in all trades and the ability to diagnose and resolve problems independently. The technician is responsible for keeping facilities safe, functional, and presentable, and for identifying when work must be referred to a licensed contractor.
Responsibilities
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building interiors, exteriors, fixtures, and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair minor plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, fixtures, toilets, faucets, and water heaters.
• Perform basic electrical work, including replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and ballasts, and troubleshooting circuits within the scope of applicable code.
• Maintain HVAC equipment: replace filters, clean coils, check thermostats, and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Complete carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, tile, and ceiling repairs.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, hardware, furniture, and fixtures.
• Maintain commercial kitchen and bar equipment at a basic level, including ice machines, coolers, and dishwashers.
• Respond to urgent maintenance calls and resolve them promptly.
• Keep a record of completed work, parts used, and recurring issues.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and licensed contractors, and oversee their work on site.
• Keep tools, equipment, and supplies organized, and report inventory needs.
• Identify safety hazards and code concerns and report them to management.
Qualifications
• At least five years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or handyman work.
• Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building repair.
• Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs with little supervision.
• Supplies own basic hand tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
• Available for flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call emergencies as needed.
