30' wooden Friendship Sloop looking for a new caretaker. Loon was built in 1976 and rebuilt by me after acquisition in 2011. After lengthy restoration process (14 years), the boat has been sailed for the last 3. Engine is Westerbeke 20B two, manufactured in late 1990's with 147 hours. Summary of work below:
-transom replaced
-stem repaired
-deck stripped, repaired and covered with Dynel
-cockpit removed, redesigned, and rebuilt
-deckhouse replaced (3 out of 4 walls); antique slider retained; butterfly hatch added
-interior gutted and rebuilt to accomodate 2
-standing rigging converted to soft eyes and dead eyes; antique nav lights restored; pinrails added; new bowsprit; manual windlass
-sails repaired; new cushions made by me
-hull recaulked by a professional, Geno Scalzo
-keel bolts replaced with bronze
-injector pump on Westerbeke 20B two repaired; new starter (currently with malfunctioning solenoid)
-all hardware (mostly antique) including winches removed, restored, and replaced
-hand carved and gold leafed trailboards and figurehead added
-all fasteners except a few in cabin replaced in bronze
-repainted (obviously) inside and out using Kirby's
-stored inside above gravel
As a consequence of drying out when on the hard for at least a decade prior to my acquisition, the Loon's oak deadwood became irreparably checked and now leaks excessively and needs replacement. This is a task which I am unable to take on. Price negotiable.
