Up for sale is a substantial, highly detailed display slab of raw Pyrophyllite self-collected/sourced from the historic Carolina Slate Belt region (Alamance/Randolph County border.)
The front of the slab features a dense, edge-to-edge carpet of golden-bronze to pearly metallic radiating "starburst" (stellate) crystal rosettes that flash brilliantly under direct lighting. Pyrophyllite is an aluminum silicate hydroxide phyllosilicate mineral characterized by it's distinctive brown-bronze star shaped radiating crystal aggregates. This slab also has a section displaying a micalike area.
The reverse side of the slab has been split flat, exposing a mesmerizing cross-section of the internal crystal structures. Slicing through the 3D spheres has created a spectacular pseudofossil pattern that looks remarkably like a natural leaf or fern imprint!
