For sale, 1948 Singer sewing machine with the Back-tack feature in a cabinet. It's serial # is AH742805. It's MFG date is 8/26/1948. It is a #66 model. The machine is in excellent condition and the cabinet is in very good condition. It has been cleaned, oiled and tested and is in proper working condition. It has a motor, foot pedal and light all work correctly. All my sewing machines go through the following procedures. At 78 plus years, this makes them work much better and worth more. This is why my prices are a little bit higher, but you are getting what you pay for! Most people do NONE of the following to them before selling their machines! Most of the metal parts are very carefully removed and wire wheeled cleaned. This takes 3-4 hours. Most of the moving parts are disassembled, thoroughly Degummed and properly cleaned including the many parts of the bobbin winder. All moving parts get reassembled, oiled, adjusted and tested. Where needed, a new tire and belt are installed. Even the underside of the machine gets the same treatment. All parts get further cleaned with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. Many times the electrical cords get replaced as well as the cords contact prongs get wire wheeled to make sure that they make good electrical contact. The bobbin area gets totally cleaned and ALL lint and thread pieces are removed. Where needed, some areas get touch up paint. On some machines, I leave some of the patina on, so it is your choice if you like it or clean it off yourself. So please take this into account when considering buying one of my machines. TY.
