My father, Don Coen, a nationally known artist with many pieces in the Denver Art Museum, passed a year ago.
We are selling his press from his Boulder studio -- which he did many amazing monoprints on.
As you may know:
The Ettan Press Company was a highly regarded manufacturer of professional printmaking equipment, though they suspended production of new presses in 2017 . Their machines remain legendary, heavy-duty studio workhorses highly sought after on the secondhand market for intaglio, etching, woodcuts, and monotype/mono printing.
The Large Format models. This was the largest one made -- 36" x 72" -- makes it effortless to pull large-scale fine art sheets or multi-plate monoprints that would be impossible to press evenly by hand.
It includes all accessories, and we are also including a large rolling table cabinet, which includes a large plexiglass box/container for wetting the paper before rolling, plus some plexiglass plates and a ream of paper.
Used -- these presses in this condition go for $5,000.
We are offering it and the rolling table for $4500.
We are reaching out to all nearby art departments.
Please let us know if you are interested or would like to come see it.
We are located in Gunbarrel / Boulder
