Selling an antique platform scale base. It is missing the top platform and the weighing mechanism, so it is being sold as-is for a decor or DIY project.The heavy cast iron frame and internal lever system are intact, and it still has all four iron wheels. While these portable platform scales were widely used across farms, hardware stores, and general mercantiles, they were also a standard fixture in historic railroad depots and train stations during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Station agents used them on the train platforms to weigh heavy passenger luggage, trunks, and incoming freight.

Perfect for a rustic garden plant stand, patio/farm decoration, or a repurpose project.
