We also have a robust DIGITAL platform: Android and iPhone app and website (search MyHometownValues.com) to complement our printed coupon magazine.
We have been publishing in Bothell/Kenmore and Mill Creek, WA for 22 years. These two established markets are currently available for only $5000 per zone. Special offer until 12/31/26, buy one zone get one free! Undeveloped markets are only $495 as a one-time licensing fee. As an owner/publisher of your own mailing territory you are responsible to sell direct mail advertising to local merchants to help them reach new clients and build name awareness. If you canvas your market, meet business owners and prospect for new businesses opening, you should be able to sell the 30 ads required to fill a 12 page magazine or grow your profits by selling 40 ads to fill a 16 page magazine.
Local brick/mortar stores pull most of their customers from a 3-5 mile radius around their business. Direct mail advertising allows them the opportunity to saturate their primary trade area at a VERY LOW cost-per-home price. All the merchants in the magazine SHARE THE COST to print and mail.....it's like car-pooling advertising dollars. In essence, we can custom build the merchant’s ad, print in full color and mail to a home for 2-3 cents! For example a sixth page ad mailed to 15,000 homes is $385 or 2.5 cents per home. Keep in mind a first class postage stamp is now 82 cents (July 2026)! Postage comparison: 15,K homes X .82 (postage alone, not counting printing) would be $12,300. Since all merchants in HTV share the cost, we can print AND mail for 2-3 cents per home, an incredible value to merchants.
It's a great business if you want to set your own hours and control your effort...no waiting around a showroom for someone to come in, rather we stop by to see local merchants and introduce them to our product. B2B advertising sales. Great for go-getters who want to work hard and play hard! High income available for sales professionals.
This business can be done in any city/town. Local merchants need to connect with local residences: that's what we do.
No expensive franchise fee! Rather we license a new/undeveloped market to you for a one-time fee of $495. There are no royalties or hidden costs. You will pay for the printing, postage and graphic design costs and keep 100% of the money generated from ad sales over and above those cost of goods. I will mentor you in this process and answer any questions as well as provide you with tools to run your business. I also act as a print broker, working with the printer, address list providers, US Post office and freight companies to make sure your magazines are printed, addressed, shipped and mailed to the correct addresses.
Profit on a 16 page magazine typically range from $7,000-$9,000 per issue, depending how you structure your sales, discount rate, trade deals and selling price. To grow profits, simply sell more ads, increase page revenue and/or grow your page count. Earnings and income depend solely on your sales efforts.
We have an abundance of trade opportunities: auto service, dental service, hair/nail care, animal services, etc. If you need something in your life you can find a supplier of that product or service and trade this for advertising in your magazine. Also, if you are fortunate to be in a market near other established Area Publishers/magazines, you can profit by placing cross sale ads (your client's ad into another APs zone) and vice versa.
If you would like more details, give me a call. I have over 32 years of direct mail advertising sales experience and have helped dozens of Area Publishers start and grow their business. Feel free to call current APs listed on our website under contact us.....some have been with me for 15-20 years (Mark and Renae James- Marysville, WA, etc.) or Hal Smith in Yakima.
