Job OverviewWe are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a truck to transport goods and materials across various routes. They are also required to perform inspections before and after a trip and unload cased products, materials, or dirt from the trailer to a customer's facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and the ability to manage time effectively while ensuring timely deliveries.
Duties
Safely drive and operate a tractor-trailer over long distances to deliver freight.
Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of goods.
Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips, reporting any issues.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle service, and cargo information.
Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to delivery schedules.
Drive manual transmission vehicles when required.
Comply with all federal and state regulations regarding transportation.
Skills
Proven experience in route driving with a strong understanding of road safety regulations.
Strong truck driving skills with experience in maneuvering tractor-trailers.
Ability to load and unload cargo effectively and safely.
Experience driving tankers is advantageous but not mandatory.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
Strong communication skills for interaction with dispatchers and customers.
Requirements:
Class A CDL or commercial driver's license.
Must pass a drug and alcohol test.
Must have a clean driving record.
Must provide a medical certificate.
