1967 MERCURY CYCLONE R-CODE
Very Rare, Marti Report shows, 1 of 19 Built!
Light weight: Fiberglass hood with no installation
Original 427 medium riser with top loader 4-speed
Not much history known- tried to contact original owners for years. Original owner gave to son in 76. 10 years later, son took it to Barrett Jackson, a sale with rare High-Performance cars. This Mercury was hidden away for 40 years. Cars in storage are run down and need a lot of work. This Old Ford Guy, Big Jim, over time got it up and running.
Too much to list:
*Buff & waxed – very nice floors, quarters and underside of the car. No rust or repairs!
*Adjusted valves- Always pull valve covers to change spark plugs
*Compression all cylinders – good. Took camera and look in cylinders and intake. Looked very clean- no blow by.
*20/50 Valvoline and new oil filter
* Distributor – new heavy-duty points set at 15. Timing is good.
*Carburetors are original. Choke and no choke are rebuilt. Did not color code. Good carburetors, leave them alone. Set for drag racing.
*New rebuilt power brake booster. Shoes are good.
*Exhaust- new mufflers and tail pipes
*NOS fuel pumps- electric pump only for racing.
*Heater delete- Radio- no wires, no brackets and antenna not installed. Marti Reports am radio
