We're looking for an experienced, reliable contractor to manage and complete an upstairs bathroom remodel in the Manchester, CT area.
The upstairs bathroom is approximately 8' × 8', with a ceiling height of 7'8". The room has been completely demolished to the studs, and professional mold remediation is complete. Walls, plumbing, electrical, subfloor, and ceiling framing are exposed and accessible. No demolition or debris removal is required. Photos show the current condition. We're ready to begin reconstruction immediately.
Scope of Work:
Install a 60" × 30" shower pan with a right-hand drain.
Install smooth, floor-to-ceiling acrylic shower wall panels (no tile or grout).
Coordinate plumbing updates, including possible PEX supply lines, hot-and-cold shutoff valves, and shower drain modifications. The existing plumbing fixture locations will remain unchanged, minimizing the need for major plumbing modifications.
Install a bathroom exhaust fan vented to the exterior.
Complete necessary electrical work, lighting, and switches.
Install drywall, ceiling, flooring, trim, and paint. Install new trim for the bathroom door. Another contractor will replace the window next month (you will not need to remove the window or add new window trim).
Install a new vanity, sink, and fixtures.
Reinstall the existing toilet.
How We'd Like to Work:
We plan to purchase most materials ourselves to help control costs. We're looking for one contractor who can oversee the entire project, coordinate licensed trades as needed, and guide us on material specifications, quantities, purchasing sequence, and timing.
Ideally, we're looking for someone who performs much of the work personally and brings in qualified subcontractors for specialized tasks.
We prefer a fixed-price labor agreement with a clearly defined scope, schedule, and payment milestones.
Labor Budget:
Our target is $3,900 for the complete remodel, including project coordination and all necessary subcontractor labor. We will purchase most materials ourselves. We're seeking an experienced contractor who can complete the project within this budget. Please confirm that this budget is workable before requesting an on-site walkthrough.
Requirements:
Experience with complete bathroom renovations.
Ability to coordinate plumbing, electrical, and other trades.
Appropriate Connecticut contractor registration and insurance.
References from recent remodeling projects.
Willingness to work with homeowner-supplied materials.
Clear communication and dependable scheduling.
Please reply with a brief description of your experience, availability, and examples of similar projects. Include your Connecticut contractor registration information and confirm whether our labor budget is workable.
We'll invite qualified candidates for an on-site walkthrough and request a written, fixed-price proposal before selecting a contractor.
