How do I install a steering column in my woody Ford? Or replace the gauges in the 1955 station wagon? How about assembling my 1960 Dodge town wagon (does the hemi still run after all these years?); or starting on the 1958 Sweptside (restomod or stock?). My projects overwhelm me at times, yet I keep finding more. As I have entered my four-score years of age I do not plan on slowing down. How about you? Then there is the whole job of keeping the shop organized, clean, and functional. Thank goodness to the crew in the shop.
I am looking for another someone to help me put these projects together. This summer I am also looking to finish the 59 t-bird, the 65 C-10, the 41 Ford coupe, the 35 Chevy sedan. Does it ever end? No. But it is all fun; because I have no customers with deadlines … only me providing direction in my private shop (who is mostly clueless about the direction I am taking this week).
This is a Monday to Friday, daytime hours type of job. About 30 to 40 hours, working on an agreed time frame. These projects involve mechanic flairs. Do you enjoy doing mechanical projects? Do you know something about a 235, or a 302, or a 354 (three different brands). Do you want to control the projects you work on with my minimal oversite (i.e., I am in the shop about half the time … sometimes lazy, sometimes vacation). Read on …
Would you be interested in working in a shop located in a warehouse environment looking out at the Boise River in Garden City? Do you want to work for an “old guy” who appreciates your help in his vintage vehicle restoration business? How about a small company, with just a couple of employees? Do you want to be a helper for the owner (Larry … that’s me)? If you could have flexibility in your hours, would that catch your attention?
All of that is possible, and maybe more, at my company. I (Larry -- the old guy) have been doing this for many, many years … and it all works! The people who have helped me in this business are great folks; they have made an interesting and enjoyable group. I require that we are drug free (no nicotine), clean language, casual in our dress, and pleasant to be around. We understand and encourage support of your child’s school/activities if that is part of your life. I am a grandfather, so I make it a point to encourage this interest. Are you also a person like this?
I would like to find a person who fits into this atmosphere. Tell me if you are interested in responding, with an email (resume is appropriate). I will attempt to respond to all inquiries if that is possible (depending on the volume and intelligence of the inquiries).
If you are looking for an interesting job, this is the ad to pursue. This is a job that should easily fit your schedule. Maybe you are a person who wants to work while your kids are in school, or you have retired but need to get out of the house, or want to try something new and different, or just need a couple of extra bucks? If you are looking for something to do during the weekdays, and like working in a warehouse/shop, and can handle working with an old guy ... then maybe this should be considered.
Check me out at my website www.classicidaho.com.
Thanks for any response and consideration, Larry.
