Laurel Path Home Services is a small, locally owned non-medical home care agency based in Black Mountain, North Carolina. We are currently completing the initial licensure process and are seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as our RN Service Supervisor as we prepare to begin serving clients.
This is a very part-time, flexible position initially, with hours expected to grow gradually as the agency begins enrolling clients. It may be especially well suited to an RN looking for meaningful supplemental work alongside another position, PRN work, retirement, or other commitments.
Laurel Path provides non-medical support intended to help older adults remain independent and connected in their homes and communities. Services include companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, transportation, and other everyday assistance.
The RN Service Supervisor will:
Conduct initial client assessments and participate in development of individualized plans of care
Review and update plans of care as required
Provide required supervision of In-Home Aides
Conduct supervisory client-home visits
Perform and document caregiver competency verification
Assist with caregiver orientation and training when appropriate
Respond to significant changes in client needs and help determine when referral or additional services may be necessary
Maintain required assessment, supervisory, and related documentation
Communicate with the Agency Director regarding client care, caregiver performance, and service concerns
Help Laurel Path maintain safe, thoughtful, and regulation-compliant services
Laurel Path does not provide skilled nursing services. The RN Service Supervisor role is primarily assessment, supervision, consultation, training, and documentation rather than bedside nursing.
Qualifications:
Current, unrestricted North Carolina Registered Nurse license;
Good communication and organizational skills;
Comfortable working independently;
Comfortable making occasional home visits in the Black Mountain/Asheville area;
Interest in working with older adults and supporting independence at home;
Experience in home care, geriatrics, community nursing, or supervision is preferred but not required;
Reliable transportation.
Schedule & Compensation:
$40/hour;
Flexible, variable part-time schedule;
Two-hour minimum for required in-person client visits;
Mileage reimbursement for approved agency travel;
Required onboarding, training, meetings, and documentation time are paid;
Hours will initially be limited while Laurel Path completes licensure and begins enrolling clients, with the opportunity for additional hours as the agency grows;
The position does not require maintaining a conventional nursing schedule. Many responsibilities can be arranged in advance around the RN’s existing commitments.
