Prep Cook / Kitchen Assistant — Monday–Friday DAY SHIFT
$18–$20 per hour | Full-time | Bethesda, MD

We are looking for a dependable Prep Cook / Kitchen Assistant to join our busy cafeteria kitchen in Bethesda.
This is a Monday–Friday daytime position, approximately 6:30 AM–2:00 PM. No nights. No weekends. We are also closed on federal holidays.
This is a great position for someone who enjoys kitchen work but wants a predictable schedule and a better work-life balance than a typical restaurant job.
What You'll Do
You'll work as part of a small kitchen team preparing breakfast and lunch for our customers. Duties include:
Basic food preparation
Chopping and prepping vegetables and other ingredients
Preparing pizzas, sandwiches, salads and other menu items
Assisting cooks with daily food production
Working on cafeteria serving line during lunch service
Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen
Helping wherever needed during busy periods
What We're Looking For
Commercial kitchen or restaurant experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
More important to us is someone who:
Is dependable and shows up to work on time
Has a good attitude and works well with others
Is comfortable working in a busy kitchen
Is willing to learn and take direction
Understands that keeping the kitchen clean is part of everyone's job
Can be on their feet for most of the shift and perform normal kitchen lifting and physical tasks
Pay: Starting at $18/hour.
Candidates with solid commercial cooking or high-volume kitchen experience may qualify for a higher starting rate, up to $20/hour, depending on experience and ability.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, approximately 6:30 AM–2:00 PM
NO NIGHTS. NO WEEKENDS.
Federal holidays off.
Important
Our cafeteria is located on a federal/military installation in Bethesda. Employees must be eligible to obtain access to the installation and will be required to complete the necessary background/security screening.
This is a permanent position. We are looking for someone who wants a stable job and can become a reliable part of our kitchen team.
