Model year 2023 Transition Relay PNW alloy, size Large, in better than new condition. 170mm/170mm travel. Full 29er setup (can change to mullet also). Less than 60 miles shown on app. Thousands spent on custom parts and finishing touches. Fully Ride Wrapped immediately out of the box. Ridden a few times in stock form; not ridden (except around block) since customization. This is a moto persons build - if you like to cross over into the emtb realm, this will handle most closely to your throttle bike.
Almost three decades of serious mtb lifestyle but lost the passion the last few years. Tried to build the Relay up to bridge the gap between my new love of moto and mtb, but alas the Relay hangs in the garage.
This is the perfect Central Oregon emtb. Just enough pedal assist to keep you honest and the heart rate up, super quiet and smooth power delivery, and completely removable battery to change the Relay to use for an analog ride or quick battery swaps. Because this isn’t a heavy full power, you retain the lively feel of an analog mtb with very little weight penalty. Plus, riding sans battery puts the Relay into that 43lb territory, which isn’t so far off of some long travel, heavy hitting analog bikes. There is zero motor resistance with battery removed or even turned off. Expect a 40ish mile range in low power mode and around 25 in full power. Do not expect this bike to hang with the full power emtbs if they’re on turbo mode. Ride the lower trails with battery, hit the Bachelor lifts, ride Upper Flag without battery on the way back. You can ride the Relay everywhere - though the Trail Karens may not be easily convinced.
Do an internet search on the 2023 Relay PNW alloy stock specs to get an idea of the base build. Otherwise:
- Brand new, custom built NOBL TR41 wheels with Onyx Classic hubs and brand new Maxxis DHF/DHRII tires. Never ridden. Over $2200.
- BeMoreBikes raised reversed stem, 90mm up, 15mm back. Looks strange but this thing is absolutely revolutionary. Replicates a moto bar being behind steering axis. No more of that stupid and outdated mtb long stem ahead of axle with the twitchy handling. Steer with your feet/legs and counter steer the bars. Puts weight center and back. Brand new, costs $400 if you can even get one. 50mm traditional stem available as substitution.
- Burgtec Josh Bryceland Ride High 50s 780mm bars. 50mm rise. Brand new. You won’t ride like him but you can at least be high. Lower rise option available.
-ISM mtb saddle. Brand new. Looks chunky but by god does it keep the pressure off the important arteries and nerves. Specialized power saddle available as a substitution.
-e13 Helix Race alloy cranks in 155mm. Brand new. Shorter is better in this case… also comes with two more cranksets from Rotor in 160mm and 165mm.
- Rev Grips suspension grips. Half waffle. I have ridden Rev Grips since their inception. Best grips period for those with sensitivity to vibration.
- Rev Grips hand flag guards. Beautifully machined mounts. Really takes the sting out of the manzanita slaps.
OPTION: Add my custom built WeAreOne carbon Strife mullet wheelset for a total price of $7K. Quickly swap between wheelsets depending on your trail selection for the day or for Bachelor laps. Simply change the flip chip around on the frame shock mount. Wheelset is in excellent condition and is perfectly true.
Reasonable offers only. I’d rather sell to make room for new projects but I’ll hold out for the right buyer and the appropriate price. Transition is selling the base model Relays at discount right now. A stock Relay will make someone super happy. There are other options out there too. Buy the bike that makes you and your wallet happy.
Cash sale only. Cash in my hand for any test rides.
