This vehicle is located in Central Oregon.
For sale is a rare, authentic Indonesian Becak (three-wheeled cycle rickshaw) that was imported from the city of Badung, West Java. We are the third owners. This rickshaw is an ideal piece for a local winery/vineyard, wedding prop, an Southeast Asian restaurant/cocktail bar staging or for parades.
The rickshaw features a beautiful, hand-painted mountain and waterfall mural on the passenger backrest. The mudguards are hand-painted with real-world registration timeline: Oct. 15, 1995 to Oct. 15, 1998. Prominent “LHS” fleet monogram on the original, adjustable canvas canopy hood.
It includes the traditional, multi-colored protective string weaving over the rear tire (designed to keep passengers’ clothing out of the wheel spokes). NOTE: The string weaving is weathered; some of the weaving has broken off. It is possible to purchase string weaving and have the weaving rewoven.
MECHANICAL CONDITION
The vehicle is visually complete and “all there”. The chain, pedals and steering mechanisms are intact but vintage and in need of TLC. It will need mechanical tuning up/lubrication if one intends to ride it. Otherwise it is suitable for display, photography or staging.
