HireQuest Direct is hiring Fish Processors / Production Workers for a seafood processing facility in Lynden, WA.
The Fish Processor / Production Worker supports daily operations in a fish and seafood processing facility. Depending on the assigned position, employees may perform hands-on fish processing or general warehouse and material-handling duties.
This position requires reliable attendance, the ability to maintain production pace and quality standards, and strict adherence to food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
Schedule
Monday – Saturday
6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Overtime is paid for qualifying hours worked
Must be available to work the entire scheduled shift and required overtime when scheduled.
Essential Duties
-Work safely and efficiently on an assigned production or packaging line.
-Handle, sort, inspect, package, repack, and/or label food products.
-Place finished products into boxes, cases, totes, or other packaging.
-Inspect products and packaging for quality, damage, contamination, or other defects.
-Assemble boxes and other packaging materials as needed.
-Stack finished cases and prepare products for palletizing or shipment.
-Maintain established production speeds and quality standards.
-Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food-safety requirements, sanitation procedures, and facility safety rules.
-Properly wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
-Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
-Follow instructions from leads and supervisors and move between production tasks as business needs require.
-Immediately report safety, food-quality, equipment, or product concerns.
Essential Job Requirements
Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation:
-Must be at least 18 years old if required by the assignment, equipment used, or applicable safety regulations.
-Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
-Must be able to stand and/or walk for the majority of the scheduled shift.
-Must be able to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements throughout the shift.
-Must be able to bend, reach, twist, stoop, and perform repetitive production tasks.
-Must be able to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds when required by the assigned position.
-Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled food-production environment, which may include refrigerated, cold, or freezer areas.
-Must be able to safely wear required PPE and food-production protective equipment.
-Must be able to follow written, verbal, visual, or demonstrated work and safety instructions.
-Must be able to identify and respond appropriately to safety signs, alarms, product labels, and workplace hazards.
-Must be able to maintain required production, quality, food-safety, and sanitation standards.
-Must be able to work the entire scheduled shift, including required overtime when scheduled.
-Must have reliable and predictable attendance.
-Must comply with all facility food-safety, GMP, sanitation, security, and workplace-safety requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
-Previous food processing, production, packaging, warehouse, or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.
-Experience working in a fast-paced production environment is preferred.
-Previous experience with food-safety or GMP requirements is a plus.
