Up front, the biggest issue with older EVs is the short driving range - when new, this car had a 66 mile range, and after about 14 years, that range is now about 44 miles - a couple less in freezing temps. Everything else about the car works great! Pretty much like-new - it's a pleasant drive and we've used it as a reliable daily driver through a couple of winters.
There are some onboard diagnostic codes - as far as I could tell with the OBD2 scanner, these reflected slow battery charging and are usually additional signs of battery age (let me know if you want these specifics) but it does mean the check engine light is on. We kept an eye on it and it was never an issue for us, and from what I read, seems fairly common with these older models.
