Extremely rare Express 2500 AWD. 2003 was the only year this van was produced. I've owned it since 2011 and purchased from the original owner with 25k on it. It's resided in Seattle and Bellingham. All regular maintenance performed on or before schedule. Runs awesome, drives great! Never thought I would be selling this thing but we had a kid and upgraded to an RV last summer. Since then this has been used as an occasional second vehicle and for hauling things for house projects.
I originally built it out with a pop top from a VW Eurovan along with all the Eurovan interior and camper parts. It still has the suburban propane furnace and propane tank from that build. In 2019 the pop top was replaced for the hightop. Then in 2022 I completely removed everything and started a new build. The project is mostly finished. Got to a usable point and then life/kid stopped the progress.
Build notes:
- The floor has killmat throughout. 1/2 inch insulation and 1/2 inch plywood with vinyl coin flooring.
- Freedman 2 seat folding rear seat.
- CR Lawrence rear window
- Large awning (great for sun and rain)
- Lolo ladder bike rack. You can open the rear doors with the bikes on.
- Side and rear ladders
- Packasport fiberglass super large ski box
- Thule rack system
- Max Fan
- Dometic 2 burner propane cooktop
- Large sink with electric water pump
- Two 5 gal fresh water jugs. Easy to remove and fill at any location
- In line water filter. Drinking water always test great
- Custom made 1/2 inch birch cabinets with slam latches. The layout and cabinets make for a ton of usually storage and there's more counter space than in our RV.
- Queen bed that pulls out over the counters. The van sleeps three adults comfortably.
- Dometic CFX45 cooler fridge
- 200 Amp hour Renogy AGM battery (You get 3-4 days of power without any charging. We never needed solar so it was never installed. You could upgrade to a 300ah lithium and triple the capacity)
- Renogy DC to DC charger
- LED lighting with dimmer switch
- Large dining table. Four can eat and hang out comfortably.
- Both front seats swivel
- Super bright LED headlights
Maintenance notes:
- New tires at 100k, they're practically new
- I just replaced the serpentine belt, pulley and tensioner.
- 100k tune done on the dealership in 2023 when at 96k miles. All fluids, plugs and wires.
- Fuel pump at 79k
- Shocks and brakes at 80k
