This car has been around the block, up until a year ago I was driving it daily. I changed the oil regularly, and did regular maintenance on it up until I stopped using it. Tires are not terribly old, still have air in them. I got a new car, so it’s been sitting for a bit, as there’s too many mechanical issues for me to fix myself and I’m trying to pass it along to someone who has more time and know how for a project car, since I know old Rangers have some interest. It runs, but I highly suspect the catalytic converter is damaged now, and there’s a grinding when turning that possibly is the U-joints. It will need to be towed based on these issues. I’ll list everything I know that’s wrong with it:
MECHANICAL:
-Either exhaust or catalytic converter issue, I don’t have enough know how to judge this.
-U-Joints or other issue as there is a loud grinding when turning.
-Battery probably needs replacing since it’s been sitting a bit, but it starts up with a jump.
-Runs a little rough at times.
-Airbag light comes and goes.
COSMETIC/OTHER:
-Front Windshield is cracked and needs to be replaced
-Driver’s side seat needs to be swapped out, the cushion has been pretty badly worn down.
-Center arm rest with storage area has been broken.
-Radio works, but the interface is cracked and unusable, knob is missing.
-Dirty inside/out from use over the years, gave it a wipe down and took everything out, but not a deep clean.
Again, this is being sold as a project car, and will need to be towed, due to the issues, it is not drivable on public roads, and will be sold AS IS.
