This has the underpinning of a Subaru WRX from the era. EJ205 with more sound deadening from Saab.
Pros:
1. Timing belt, water pump at 97k back in 2017.
2. Head resurfaced, valve job, head gasket in 2019.
3. Power steering service in 2020.
PO also did a few things, like a 3" catback exhaust, boost and exhaust temp gauge, turbo heat shield, the rest is stock.
3. I acquired the car in late 2020. During my ownership,
- Synthetic oil change every 4-5k
- Added IAG skid plate (original was missing)
- A/C recommission
- New alternator & battery,
- Upgraded radiator, the old one leaked after 20 years,
- Windshield replacement due to extensive crack.
- oem keyless flob, sti shift knob & mat
- New all season tires (michelin pilot sports),
- Complete brake job: new brake pads and rotors all corners, stainless brake lines, new rear calipers, DOT 4 flush
- OEM fog lights replacement (old one got cracks).
- Class 1 accessory receiver, used for bike rack.
Cons:
- Cosmetically it's fair, paint faded on hood scoop, rear spoiler and hatch
- It's an old car and needs TLC
Overall a solid car, stick shift, AWD, turbo, does 27 mpg on highway, trusty old subbie. Growing family and the small car has to go.
