Vintage ice axe made in Austria. Made by Stubai, model engraved: "Mod Wallner". This axe has a hole in the head to clip in a carabiner, a fluted cutting face, pick, and point at the bottom. Handle is wood, perhaps ash. 30 inches length overall. Purchased in 1970 and lightly used. Then kept in dry storage. Everything looks solid, but due to its age it is not guaranteed for mountaineering. In good condition, but with typical patina for its age: some discoloration on the wood and light rust on the metal parts. Nice display item.
