Hayley Cakes and Cookies is growing, and we’re looking for a Lead Baker to run the kitchen at our South Austin location on Brodie Lane.
Everything we make is from scratch. We need someone who knows their way around batters, doughs, and cakes, can keep a kitchen organized and on schedule, and takes pride in turning out consistent, high-quality product every day.
What you’ll do
Bake scratch-made cakes, cookies, and batters from our established recipes
Build the daily prep list and keep production on track
Coordinate customer orders so they’re ready on time for pickup
Run ongoing quality checks so every batch meets our standards
Step in wherever needed when a teammate is out
What we’re looking for
Experience in a scratch bakery or the bakery department of a larger store
Hands-on experience making batters, cookies, and cakes
Ability to follow recipes precisely and consistently
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team across multiple locations
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:00 PM
Occasional Saturdays during our busiest seasons
Sundays always off
Pay
$18–$20/hour, depending on experience
