Position Overview
VFW Post 8787 is seeking a dependable, friendly, and customer-focused Part-Time/Event Bartender to join our team. This position supports regular bar operations, private events, holiday celebrations, and community gatherings.
Our ideal candidate enjoys working with people, can operate independently, and takes pride in creating a welcoming, neighborhood bar atmosphere for veterans, military members, and community guests.
Applicants must have availability on Saturdays and select holidays, with additional flexibility for evenings and special events.

Our Post operates a neighborhood-style bar that is open to the public. We are both a social gathering place and a mission-driven organization, offering a friendly, inclusive environment built on camaraderie, respect, and community service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to members and guests.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Handle cash, credit cards, and point-of-sale transactions accurately.
Maintain a clean, stocked, organized, and safe bar environment.
Follow responsible alcohol service and applicable safety regulations.
Manage bar operations independently during regular shifts and collaborate with staff and volunteers during larger events.
Assist with private rentals, fundraisers, holiday celebrations, and other Post activities.
Qualifications
Previous bartending experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate.
Familiarity with military or veteran communities is a plus.
Must be at least 21 years old and possess current TABC certification.
Strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills.
Friendly, reliable, professional, and comfortable interacting with a diverse community.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
Saturday and select holiday availability required. Additional evening and special event availability preferred.
