I have a excellent condition Ampeg B2Re (450 watts @ 4 Ohms rack mount) amplifier which lived in my air conditioned personal smoke-free music studio. It powered a 8X10 Ampeg "refrigerator" cab and was plenty loud enough even with the limiter engaged at all times. I do understand that it may not be enough power for many of the inefficient speaker cabs out there, but for the price it can also make for a good backup amp.
