Cake & Cookie Decorator — Hayley Cakes and Cookies
$17–$20/hour, depending on experience | Full-time & part-time | In person
About the job
We make a lot of cookies and cakes. Some days are calm. Some days we get absolutely slammed.
We’re looking for talented decorators who can work quickly, produce beautiful work, and take real pride in everything that leaves the decorating room. This is a hands-on role. You’ll spend most of your day decorating, not watching someone else do it.
What you’ll do
Depending on your experience and position, you may be:
Outlining, flooding, and detailing royal icing cookies
Piping buttercream and decorating cakes
Following photos, designs, and order instructions accurately
Matching colors and keeping large orders consistent
Working quickly without sacrificing quality
Prepping icing, piping bags, and decorating supplies
Keeping your station clean and organized
Catching mistakes before anything leaves the decorating room
Helping the team hit daily production deadlines

What we care about most
Professional decorating experience is a plus, but we care just as much about speed, artistic ability, reliability, attitude, and coachability.
We can teach you our systems. We can’t teach you to care.
You don’t need to be the best decorator in Austin on day one (though we wouldn’t complain). We’d rather hire someone talented, fast, dependable, and eager to improve than someone with an impressive résumé who moves at half speed.
When production gets busy, everybody pitches in. Our goal is for everyone to leave each day feeling like they crushed it, as part of a team that did the same.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Occasional Saturdays during our busiest seasons
Sundays always off
