This is a beautiful and practical vintage mid-century gate-leg double drop-leaf dining table by Leslie Diamond for the Conant Ball Modernmates line. This 1960s classic dining room table and four-chair set is original and functional, with an ingenious folding system that provides seating for two, four or up to six people yet is very compact when folded. Overall condition is good vintage for its age and use, but it will need mild refinishing to restore its former glory. There is no warping, and all the joints between the boards are perfectly tight. The four chairs have the original period naugahyde in two enticing colors and have many more years of service left. One chair has a small tear, and all need TLC. Five piece sets like this have been seen on internet sites for up to $4,000. This truly rare set is available locally for $650 for all five pieces.
