D.W. Sanders Tile & Stone Contracting is looking for dependable, motivated people who enjoy working with their hands and want to learn the tile and stone trade.
Our approach is simple: we train our tile setters from the ground up. You’ll start as a helper, work alongside experienced craftspeople, and develop the skills to grow toward becoming a journeyman tile and stone setter.
Since 1994, our Atlanta-area company has built a reputation for craftsmanship and taking care of our customers. We invest in training, with the goal of helping our team members work toward Certified Tile Installer certification through the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF).
What you’ll gain
Hands-on training alongside experienced tile and stone setters.
Opportunities to develop your skills and take on greater responsibility.
The satisfaction of helping create beautiful, lasting installations.
Company-paid lodging and transportation, plus a meal allowance, for out-of-town assignments.
A $2,000 sign-on bonus after four months of continuous employment.
What you’ll do
You’ll help your assigned tile setter keep each job organized, productive, and ready for quality work. Your responsibilities will include:
Unloading and organizing materials, tools, and equipment.
Setting up each morning and helping prepare the work area.
Mixing mortar and other installation materials.
Learning to measure and make accurate tile and stone cuts.
Keeping the job site clean and organized throughout the day.
Learning grouting, cleaning, and finishing techniques—the details that bring an installation together.
Cleaning up and organizing tools at the end of the workday.
Following directions, working safely, and supporting your team.
What we’re looking for
Dependability and a positive attitude.
A desire to learn a skilled trade and take pride in your work.
Basic math and measuring skills.
Reliable transportation to assigned local work locations.
Willingness to follow directions and work as part of a team.
Ability to perform hands-on construction work, including carrying materials, bending, and kneeling, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Willingness to travel out of town approximately 25% of the time for projects throughout the Southeast. Company-paid lodging and transportation and a meal allowance are provided for these assignments.
Prior tile-setting experience is not required. Bring a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail—we’ll help you build the skills.
