American Signal Company has made important contributions to the traffic and intelligent transportation industries for more than 30 years. We manufacture professional traffic-control and roadway-safety equipment that helps transportation agencies communicate with drivers, manage traffic, protect road crews, and improve safety on roads and highways.

• Has previous assembly, manufacturing, mechanical, automotive, electrical, fabrication, or similar hands-on experience
• Is proficient with common hand and power tools
• Has strong mechanical aptitude and understands how components fit and work together
• Enjoys working on cars, motorcycles, machinery, electronics, equipment, construction projects, or other hands-on projects
• Is intelligent, practical, observant, and eager to learn
• Accepts instruction and constructive feedback positively
• Maintains a positive attitude and strengthens the team
• Takes personal pride in workmanship and notices when something is not right
• Works quickly without sacrificing quality or safety
• Follows drawings, written instructions, and established assembly procedures
• Learns new products and processes quickly
• Has a dependable employment history with good tenure in previous positions
• Arrives on time, works consistently, and takes responsibility for results
THE WORK
You will help build professional traffic-control devices and intelligent transportation equipment used on roads and highways. Responsibilities include:
• Mechanical and electrical assembly
• Accurate, safe use of hand and power tools
• Installing components, wiring, fasteners, hardware, and finished assemblies
• Reading drawings and following detailed work instructions
• Inspecting your own work for fit, finish, function, and quality
• Identifying and correcting assembly problems
• Maintaining productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Cooperating with the team to meet quality and production goals
This is not a position for someone who simply wants to go through the motions. We want people who enjoy building things properly, solving practical problems, improving their skills, and seeing a high-quality finished product at the end of the day.
