Grade QH Gelding - $1,250 (Athol)

Ace is a 23 yr old grade QH gelding 16+ hh, approx 1200lbs still in very good ridable condition. Good teeth and a fairly easy keeper, he is just on timothy hay and 4 lbs of senior per day. He has tons of experience on ranches and in the Big Horn and Fleecer Mountains of Wyoming and Montana. Is familiar with working cows. Crosses water and ponies other horses fine. Good for the farrier and vet. Loads in a straight or slant trailer. Has been hauled and camped with, ridden in extreme terrain. Has been sitting for 5 years and will need a tune up but if he is in work he would be fine for an advanced beginner or intermediate rider. He has bucked a few times, but he doesn't like the back cinch touching him and in both cases it was. Some ground work and a few rides and he will be good to go. Previous owner (9yrs ago) advertised him as a kids horse but I am not comfortable doing that. He has a pretty good handle on him, neck or direct reins, knows his cues. He has been a good horse but isn't getting used here. I want him to go to a good home that wont let him end up on the meat truck. Totally riding sound when put out to pasture. Soles can get thin in wet weather, suggest at least front shoes if riding outside of the arena. Doesn't look or act 23.
