Come learn how to process and fully utilize every part of the animal. We will work from live sheep to their transformation into usable parts. This hands-on weekend will cover every step, empowering participants to do the work themselves. All will take home a share of the harvest (meat, fat, bones, sausage, etc.).
If you have wanted to process your own animals, or one’s that you have hunted and utilize everything,
join us for the weekend!
Topics include:
Doing the kill in a calm and appreciative manner
Importance of being directly involved in sourcing, harvesting and processing our nutrition
Skinning and hide preservation
Utilizing all parts of the animal
Connection between land, food, and nourishment
Myron Cretney, Earth skills instructor, has led numerous animal processing classes during the past 20 years with people of all ages. He places great consideration and importance on the experience of the animals, as well as the students. His goal is to make the skills of this process accessible to all who are eager to learn.
