Hey there — my name’s Josh. I’m 30 and moved to the area from Florida about a year and a half ago. In Florida, I played in a band called FOOLSEND, and since moving here I’ve started a couple of new projects. I’m looking to connect with people for another original music project.
I’m mainly interested in writing and playing original music, but I’m totally open to working in a few covers for live sets or just for fun. I can play bass, keyboard, or guitar depending on what the project needs, though I naturally lean more toward bass. My drummer is also available. I also have some interest in looping with ableton drum sequencers and stacking sounds for live sets.
You can get a sense of my background from an album I made with my old band. It was recorded live, then mixed and mastered by me. I also play acoustic fingerstyle in the vein of Jim Croce and Kings of Convenience, and I have some unreleased acoustic songs I’d be happy to share.
I’m into songwriting, arranging, and building songs with people. I have a solid understanding of music theory and some home recording tools as well, including Ableton, Soundtoys, and other plugins.
Genres i’m into:
● Psychedelic Indie Rock / Pop
● Dream Pop
● Indie Rock / Alternative Rock
● Art Rock / Experimental Rock
● Lo-Fi / Bedroom Pop
● Indie Folk / Chamber Pop
● Indie Electronic / Indietronica
● Indie Funk / Nu-Disco
● Garage Rock / Post-Punk
Musical influences include:
• Men I Trust
• Crumb
• Radiohead / The Smile
• Khruangbin
• Kings of Convenience
• Alice in Chains
• Mac DeMarco
• The Beatles / Pink Floyd
•Coldplay
If you write your own music or have recordings, I’d love to check them out and share some more of my stems. But most of all I enjoy coming up with stuff from scratch together to blend influences.
