Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Millwright I to support the Maintenance functions of our high-volume lumber mill operation. As part of a large-scale team committed to continuous improvement, this role will play a key part in supporting our workforce by maintaining smooth day-to-day equipment operations.
Job Requirements:
• Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems throughout the plant
• Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC electrical systems
• Have extensive knowledge on safe and proper use of oxygen and acetylene welding and cutting equipment/arc welding equipment
• Trouble shoot, repair and/or rebuild sawmill equipment
• Use computer operating systems of various sawmill equipment
• Read schematics in order to fabricate parts and equipment
• Desire to understand and operate computer operating systems for various mill equipment
• Required to have necessary hand tools to complete most repairs
• Must be able to handle hazardous waste according to company policy and have knowledge of all legal requirements
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
• Must follow all fall protection and lockout/tagout procedures
• Work in a safe and cooperative manner with all team members
• Keep work area clean and orderly at all times
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical training degree/certificate preferred
• 3+ years’ experience in a Maintenance role
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair and/or rebuild sawmill equipment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting positively with all people inside and outside our organization
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude
• Related industry or sawmill experience preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Benefits and Compensation:
• Compensation $27.02 - $33.53/hour; depending on experience
