I'm looking for a percussionist to be part of a poetry and music thing I am putting together for live performance. I play electric guitar and have been working with a second electric guitarist and a bass player on soundscapes and atmospheres that will complement narrative poetry drawn from a verse novel that I published last year. (I've written and published a bunch of books: poetry, fiction, and scholarly.) This verse novel is a single story told in poems with music between and within poems.
There are sections for non-rhythmic and rhythmic percussion. No huge kit or anything; possibly just an array of noisemakers like shakers, blocks, hand drums, and stuff like that. I am open to almost anything. If you are in the mood for something very different from the usual, let me know. Maybe we can find some common ground.
