LIR Transportation is seeking dependable, professional, and customer-focused drivers to provide both Medical Transportation and general community transportation services throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Drivers transport passengers to medical appointments, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, work, school, shopping, social activities, airports, and other destinations safely and professionally.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, values safety, and thrives in a customer-service-oriented environment. Drivers may transport ambulatory passengers, wheelchair passengers, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and members of the general public. Driver duties and conduct requirements are defined by company transportation and safety policies.
What You'll Do
Safely transport passengers to medical appointments, dialysis treatments, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, work, school, shopping, and other destinations.
Assist passengers entering and exiting vehicles as needed.
Properly secure wheelchairs, mobility devices, and passengers when required.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and fuel levels.
Use company dispatch and communication systems.
Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures.
Deliver outstanding customer service to passengers and facility staff.
Report accidents, vehicle damage, mechanical issues, or safety concerns promptly.
Maintain accurate trip records and documentation.
Ensure passengers reach their destination safely before departing. Drivers are expected to assist passengers as needed and verify safe drop-off procedures.
Qualifications Required
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License.
Clean driving record and ability to meet insurance requirements.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and caregiver screening.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and participate in random drug testing programs for safety-sensitive positions.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to operate smartphones and vehicle technology systems.
Pass drug test and background check.
Preferred
Experience in transportation, delivery, healthcare, caregiving, customer service, or public service.
Experience assisting elderly or disabled individuals.
Wheelchair transportation experience.
Knowledge of Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh, and surrounding communities.
Physical Requirements
Ability to assist passengers with mobility limitations.
Ability to lift, push, or maneuver wheelchairs, walkers, and mobility equipment.
Ability to get in and out of vehicles frequently during a shift.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
