Looking for loving retirement homes for two senior horses and a senior donkey in Apache Junction, AZ
Nyx & Duke | Bonded Pair, Must Stay Together
- Nyx: Mustang mare, estimated mid-20s. Sweet with personality, generally well-mannered but food-motivated. Hasn't been ridden in two years. Not being offered as a children's riding horse.
- Duke: Paint gelding, estimated late 20s. Companion only, not rideable. Very attached to Nyx.
- Both take glucosamine, need regular hoof trims every 6–8 weeks, and stand well for the farrier.
Doug | Senior BLM Burro
Former rescue burro, estimated mid-to-late 20s. Sweet, social, stubborn, and difficult to catch, but halter trained once caught. He's lived as a sanctuary animal and would do best with an experienced donkey owner who can offer plenty of room to roam, appropriate shelter, and hoof care as needed. Takes glucosamine.
Nyx and Duke must stay together. Doug can go separately or with them.
Experienced, responsible homes only. Appropriate space, shelter, routine care, and the ability to provide senior care are important.
Located in Apache Junction, AZ. Must arrange pickup and transportation.
