BBP35 5-string Bass Guitar - Vintage Sunburst w/ Hardshell Case and S.I.T. Tapered Strings - Made in Japan, 2017.
Only used in the studio for a few sessions; never gigged or exposed to smoke.
This is my third generation of Yamaha BB-bass reissues wince they revived the line under Nathan East's guidance. It has the best pickups so far, but I just can't live with the narrow neck so I bought a Lakland 5-string last month and no longer need this bass.
Excellent hardshell case.
I tried MANY different strings but as most players are uninterested in trying something they haven't used, I sold the extra two sets separately. In my experience, the current strings are by far the best match, especially as the 34.5" scale length benefits from taper core on the Low B and Low E, and only S.I.T. offers such a set. If you like them, they must be bought direct from vendor at $30/set. I also tried various T.I., D'addario, GHS, and La Bella sets.
The official specs don't quite match my own, so I always list those separately.

Note that the S.I.T. strings are very tightly wound compared to other brands (this is also true for DR Strings though), so the tension is a bit lower than you might expect for what otherwise appear to be heavier gauges. As a result, these strings feel like medium gauge vs. heavy gauge.
These basses go for $2200 new. I think they may have recently moved manufacturing from Japan to Indonesia as well, but that may only be for the intermediate models.
