Joseph Q. Whipple, (1917-2008) was a nationally known wildlife artist and sculptor primarily known for his detailed hand-carved wildlife shadowbox creations in relief of wildlife & game birds set against his hand-panted backgrounds. His works were sold through various outlets and ultimately the famed Abercrombie & Fitch catalog.
This particular piece features a ring-neck pheasant in a 7" x 9" solid wood frame shadowbox configuration. The piece is signed by J Whipple and was first acquired through the Abercrombie & Fitch catalog. The item is in excellent condition.
