We're a four-piece band (drums, bass, guitar and lead vocals) looking for a keyboardist to join us.
We come from a classic rock background, playing music from The Cars, Tom Petty, Elton John, Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Rush, Pink Floyd, The Who and more. Lately we've been having a lot of fun getting into Yacht Rock (soft rock) and other keyboard-heavy '70s/'80s material, adding songs like Baby Come Back, Ride Like the Wind, Sailing, I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You, Lowdown, Maneater, My Life, From the Beginning, etc.
This should be a fun spot for the right keyboard player. A lot of the material we're getting into has substantial keyboard parts, and we enjoy tackling songs that are a little challenging and figuring them out together. We're always adding new material and are very open to suggestions, especially songs that take advantage of what a new player brings to the band.
If you can sing backup or lead vocals, that's definitely a plus, as is playing guitar or other instruments. We like having the flexibility to switch things up depending on the song, but keys are the main thing we're looking for.
We're in our late 40s to early 60s and rehearse once a week in Dexter. We're serious about sounding good, but equally important is having good chemistry, getting along and enjoying making music together. No egos and no desire to turn this into a second job.
We're having fun building the repertoire and seeing where it takes us. Playing out when the right opportunities come along would be great, but chasing gigs every weekend or month isn't the goal.
If you're looking for a group where you can contribute, suggest songs, tackle some interesting material and enjoy playing with a good group of people, we'd like to hear from you.
