Summary/Objective
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for maintaining and enhancing human resources for multiple restaurants and an administrative company by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations policies, programs and practices. This position is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all HR functions, recruiting, benefits, payroll and tax accounts, and compliance.
Operations
Manages the Payroll & Benefits Coordinator and Administrative Assistant, directing work as needed
Manages HR vendor relationships and ensures accuracy of billing and execution of established contracts (payroll platform, insurance brokers, etc.)
Creates and maintains HR budget (this includes the HR budget items for all restaurants as well as the administrative HR budget)
Administers FMLA and other leave programs to ensure state and federal compliance
Conducts regular audits of all HR related Quickbooks and Restaurant365 accounts; also responsible for year-end reconciliation of said accounts
Completes quarterly tax audits and oversees the correction of any necessary errors
Manages all new hire onboarding procedures and practices
Administers all employee benefits programs to include Health, Dental, Vision, and 401k plans
Works to proactively educate the staff of HR and safety-related issues
Maintains compliance with all annual reporting, including but not limited to EEO, Non-discrimination, OSHA 300, and 1095s
Maintains the company’s WOTC program
Ensures all legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations when necessary, and maintaining records
Maintains all staff and management policies, procedure handbooks, and employment documents
Maintains business performance metrics relevant to HR, such as turnover and retention rate
Responds to all harassment or discrimination concerns; drives investigation of said concerns and ensures appropriate documentation is maintained.
Maintains work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions in the office and at the restaurants
Maintains recruiting, interviewing, and evaluation programs as well as training managers on candidate selection
Maintains all personnel files and coordinates regular audits to ensure accuracy
Is available to managers for policy guidance and review, such as disciplinary action
Maintains all business insurance contracts, including general liability and workers’ compensation; this includes filing claims, reporting loss runs, and obtaining and evaluating renewals
Assists restaurant management with employee coaching and development, discipline, and mediation
Other duties as assigned
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, salaried position requiring a minimum of 45 hours per week during normal business hours.
Other Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be able to communicate, write and understand English
At least 5 years professional experience in human resources management, preferably in restaurants
Human resources related degree preferred
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred
Experience with Paycor preferred
Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, HRIS, Quickbooks, and Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Drive)
