Selling my 2012 Forester. Many of these cars keep going well past 150k–200k miles when basic maintenance is kept up. Recent work already addresses several common wear items: New fuel pump, New spark plugs and cables, New battery, New brakes.
These are not minor services. A fuel pump, plugs/cables, battery, and brakes together can easily run $1,000–2,000+ at a shop. The buyer is getting a vehicle where those expensive jobs are already done, rather than inheriting them. Front seals of engine have been replaced already after an oil leak a year ago. It has the occasional stall after long road trips (not uncommon with Subaru's of this era) Because it is not constant and the car otherwise runs, it is typically something a buyer can have diagnosed and addressed during or after purchase rather than a total deal-breaker.
Also including a set of studded tires with at least one season left on them. The car currently has the summer tires on.
