We are looking for an experienced, reliable, hardworking Make-Ready Technician / Handyman to help prepare our rental properties for new tenants. This is a hands-on position for someone who can look at a vacant unit, figure out what needs to be done, and get it ready to rent.
Typical work may include:
Cleaning, vacuuming and washing windows
Painting walls, ceilings, doors and trim
Patching drywall, nail holes and minor wall damage
Caulking around bathtubs and other areas
Repairing or replacing doors, locks, hinges and hardware
Installing and repairing baseboards, trim and molding
Repair flooring
Replacing light fixtures, outlets, switches and other minor electrical items
Making minor plumbing repairs
Repairing cabinets, countertops and other fixtures
Replacing blinds, screens and other items as needed
General carpentry and remodeling work
Cleaning up and removing debris after completing work
Basic landscaping and exterior maintenance when needed
Taking care of miscellaneous repairs that come up in rental properties
We have multiple rental properties throughout the Southwest Suburbs of Cook County, so the work will vary from unit to unit. Some jobs may be simple make-ready work, while others may involve more extensive repairs or remodeling.
We are not necessarily looking for someone who can do everything. If you are especially good at painting, flooring, drywall, carpentry, remodeling, plumbing, electrical, or another trade, let us know what you specialize in.

*Previous handyman, maintenance, remodeling, construction or apartment make-ready experience preferred
This is part-time work, and the schedule can be flexible depending on your availability and our workload. It could be a good opportunity for someone who already has a full-time job and wants to pick up additional work.
