The Technics SL-B2 is a reliable, entry-to-mid-range vintage semi-automatic belt-drive turntable released in 1979. Belt-driven with a frequency-generator servo motor to keep speed stable. Semi-automatic (manually move the arm to start, auto-returns and shuts off at the end of a record). Speeds: 33 1/3 and 45 RPM with electronic speed switching. Pitch control adjustments with an illuminated strobe on the platter edge. Standard S-shaped tonearm with an adjustable counterweight and anti-skating control. Most users rate it very high (around 9/10), noting that it sounds clear, handles tracking well, and punches well above its weight compared to modern budget record players.
Note: The plastic tabs on back of the cover are broken, so cover does not raise and lower- but just rests on the plinth. This does not affect the performance of the turntable.
