1997 Yamaha GP 1200, With a bad motor. Was out riding yesterday and loud noise so drove it back to dock and now bad compression in cylinder one . I don’t have the time to fix it. I’ve attached the compression readings . Might be just an easy Fixing sleeve on cylinder one.I’ve had this for eight years. It’s been a great jet ski. These things are fast. 62 mph… the GP1200 is a legendary 2 stroke monster!… It is an easy jet ski to fix, can pull the block right out the top easily. Much better to work on than the 1200 R or the 1300 as all mechanical. You can get a Remanufactured block, From SBT if needed, And put a new one in with all the same parts for much cheaper than you’ll go out buy one for. The E-box is good too and gauges work including the antitheft code… Small Fiberglass work needed on the nose of the ski I have patched up over the years,as Can be seen in the pictures, I’m not the best working withe fiberglass;)… already converted this to premix with the oil block off Kit, I have added a bilge pump, I added primer System to get it to start very quickly, I added aftermarket Riva air filters, carburetors were done about 50 hours ago, Approximately 160 hours on the ski. Trailer is not included.
