I am selling a Cedar Hope Chest made by the most popular Cedar Hope Chest manufacture in the country. The locking mechanism has been removed to comply with the mandatory recall. The company is no longer in business. (Children were opening the chest, crawling inside to hide, and closing the lid once inside. The chest was not able to be opened from the inside, so the children suffocated.

The recall notice required the replacement or removal of the locking mechanism. The replacement locking mechanism eventually forced the company into bankruptcy, so the only option left was the removable of the lock. (I have the locking mechanism in a plastic bag attached to the inside of the chest.

I cannot mention the manufacture's name as Craigs List will delete the post.

The Chest is in better than good condition.

It was never altered, repaired or repainted, (other than the locking mechanism removal). It is in original condition, including factory markings and documents.
