Wham-O Magic Window, a highly popular kinetic sand art toy - $40 (ALBUQUERQUE)

What It Is & How It Works
• The Magic: Unlike modern versions that use liquid, the classic Magic Window is a completely dry system. It is sealed with two different weights of "Microdium crystals" (usually blue and white).
• The Science: Because the dark and light grains are different shapes and sizes (immiscible), they cannot mix seamlessly. Gravity forces them to flow past one another, forming intricate, unrepeatable landscapes, oceans, or mountains every time you turn it.
